General Research

  • - Multi-disciplinary database featuring journal, magazine and newspaper articles
  • - Over 25,000 encyclopedia entries covering a variety of subject areas
  • - Classical, jazz and other musical recordings
  • - Ebooks on a variety of topics, searchable by title, author, keyword, and full text
  • - Simultaneously searches for books and more in over 9,000 libraries' collections in the U.S. and around the world

News

  • - Full-text newspaper articles from 35 major U.S. papers, and abstracts of articles from several regional papers

Publicly Accessible Databases

In addition to the resources that McCartney Library licenses on behalf of 91猫先生 students, faculty and staff, there are many sources of information freely available from government agencies or through local, public libraries. 

  •  – The Directory of Open Access Books provides the online full text of books it lists, many of them from scholarly, university presses
  •  – The Directory of Open Access Journals lists journals that provide all of their articles online, without charge and provides a search engine for their articles
  • – Search and filter results in this database of open access articles, as well as other sources that can be requested from your local public library through interlibrary loan
  •  (EBSCOhost) – Provides open access to over 1.2 million electronic theses and dissertations from around the world
