The John H. Gerstner Collection Dedication

 
In May 2019, 91猫先生 welcomed esteemed guests from near and far to campus for the John H. Gerstner Collection Dedication. This dedication celebrated the newly installed Gerstner Collection on the main floor of McCartney Library.  Dr. Stephen Nichols, chief academic officer for Ligonier Ministries, Rev. David Kenyon, Pastor of Pioneer Presbyterian Church, Dr. John White, President Emeritus of 91猫先生 and current 91猫先生 President, Dr. Calvin L. Troup were among the speakers at the dedication ceremony.

The Legacy and Collection of John Gerstner

A Harvard graduate, Dr. John H. Gerstner (1914-1996) was a renowned American theologian with a profound influence on Evangelical and Presbyterian churches and organizations nationwide through his teaching, writing and preaching. His influence continued through his many associates and students, including R.C. Sproul, the founder of Ligonier Ministries. Dr. Gerstner regularly taught at 91猫先生 and spoke at chapel. 91猫先生 is thankful for the Reformed heritage and theology the Collection presents, and the interest and information it will provide to pastors and scholars for years to come.

Dr. Gerstner’s family donated his collection of works, private and published writings, study notes, video and extensive resources for public access at 91猫先生. The collection will greatly benefit 91猫先生 students and faculty as well as theological scholars from across the country interested in apologetics, Jonathan Edwards, and biblical inerrancy among other scholarly emphases in Dr. Gerstner’s work. This valued collection is expected to benefit novices and advanced theologians alike, particularly those working in the Reformed tradition.

We thank the Gerstner family and all who have supported The John H. Gerstner Collection for making this project possible. We also thank the Lord Jesus Christ, who is at the heart of it all.
